Two Physics Department Lecturers Pass Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) Certification

Lecturers of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, I Made Hermanto, S.Pd., M.Pd and Nurhayati, S.Pd., M.Pd have participated in the Microsoft Certified Educator Training & Certification activity initiated by the Team KPI (Key Performance Indicator) UNG. This activity is aimed at improving the teaching skills of Lecturers and at the same time contributing to the improvement of UNG's Key Performance Indicators.

The implementation of the activity consists of three stages. First, all participants take part in the MCE Training on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the UTC Damhil Ballroom on the ground floor. Second, all participants conduct independent learning through the Certified Skills Academy platform. Third, all participants took part in the certification test activity which was held on September 9, 2022 simultaneously at the UNG Technology, Information, and Communication Center.

They have both passed international certifications and are entitled to the title of Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE). Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) which is an international certification of educators and is issued by Microsoft. The minimum score to get the MCE is 700. I Made Hermanto, S.Pd., M.Pd, said that there are six learning design competencies that are tested in the certification test. These competencies include the competence to design collaboration-based learning, skilled communication, knowledge construction, self-regulation, real-world problem solving and innovation, and use of ICT for learning.

"There are 40 questions related to problems in learning that must be completed within 1 hour. Prior to taking the test, participants had attended training for eleven days. In the training, several examples of cases related to 21st-century competencies were presented. For example, the development of learning technology, learning design, ICT, and others," said Nurhayati, S.Pd., M.Pd.
