Independent Curriculum Workshop Learning Independent Campus Physics Department 2020 Physics Education Study Program

The Physics Department consists of three study programs, namely the Physics Education Study Program, the Physics Study Program, and the Science Education Study Program carrying out the "Independent Curriculum Workshop for Independent Learning Campus" on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, from 9.00 to 12.30 WITA which will be held online via zoom meetings. This activity is carried out regularly every four years and was officially opened by Deputy Dean 1, Dr. Djuna Lamondo, M.Si. In his speech, he really appreciated the activities of the Merdeka Learning Curriculum Workshop on the Merdeka Campus. On this occasion, the Head of the Curriculum Development Team, who also served as the head of the Physics Laboratory of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Drs. Asri Arbie, M.Si, explained that the Department of Physics carried out curriculum reconstruction with the aim of producing a curriculum that could facilitate students to develop their potential to the demands of the world of work along with the times.

Deputy Dean 1 gave a speech at the Independent Curriculum Learning Workshop on the Independent Campus.

This activity was attended directly online by a team of experts from the field of physics: Dr. Rizqie Arbie, M.Si, (Bandung Institute of Technology, ITB) and Dr. Pujianto, M.Pd (Yogyakarta State University, UNY). In addition, it was also attended by "users" or graduate users (stakeholders), namely: Supervisors and Principals, Representatives of the Education and Culture Office of Gorontalo Province, PLTD Gorontalo Province, High School Teachers, and Vocational High Schools Equivalent throughout Gorontalo Province, Gorontalo Province BMKG Agencies, Teachers of SMP, MTs, Aliyah throughout Gorontalo Province.

In the core activity of Curriculum Discussion, Dr. Pujianto and Dr. Rizqie Arbie provided input and advice on the structure of the Physics Department curriculum as a whole, especially in terms of how to equip prospective teachers to master the concept of Physics contextually. In addition, graduate users are one example, Mrs. Dra. Mercy Karwur also provides input and advice on field conditions, in this case, regarding all the things that are real needs in the field by stakeholders so that it is hoped that from an early age, students are prepared and required to master them, not only limited to their cognitive abilities but also affective and emotional. At the end of the activity, Mr. Drs. Asri Arbie, M.Si, hopes this discussion activity can continue outside the meeting room. In addition, the Department of Physics needs cooperation from all parties involved to prepare student competencies based on the needs of the times in dealing with the world of work.
